Jenny Vallancourt is an Equity actor currently pursuing her MFA in Acting at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory in Sarasota, Florida. She is a graduate of Barnard College, where she studied English and Theatre. Since graduating from Barnard, she has performed both regionally and in many theaters around the city. Recent credits include Sylvia Plath in Plath. A New Musical at FringeNYC, Eve in Mia McCullough's Since Africa with The Red Fern Theatre Company, Brandy in Prince at the Gene Frankel Theatre, and Jennifer Lee in the world-premiere of The Realization of Emily Linder with the New Jersey Repertory Company. At NJ Rep she has also appeared in the world-premieres of Bookends, directed by Ken Jenkins, October 1962, and Release Point.
Jenny is a Founding Member of The Brewing Dept. (TBD), a nonprofit theater collective dedicated to fostering a supportive creative community and giving artists a substantive development process in the creation of their work. TBD presented her play The Living Room as part of the 2013 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, and she also appeared as Hilda Wangel in TBD's production of Ibsen's The Lady from the Sea in November 2013. Most recently, Jenny starred as Desdemona & Bianca in TBD's production of Othello at The Alchemical Theater Laboratory in November 2015, and as Sarah in Matthew McShane's Beware of Dog at the Wildheart Loft in August 2016.
