Jenny Vallancourt is an Equity actor pursuing her MFA in Acting at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory in Sarasota, Florida. She will graduate in April 2019, followed by a New York City showcase on May 6, 2019. With the Conservatory, she appeared as Lucile in Jean Anouilh's The Rehearsal, directed by Ashley Teague, and as member of the Chorus in Oedipus, directed by Greg Leaming.

She made her debut as a professional member of the Asolo Repertory Company in April 2018 as Ani/Sasha/Callie in Gloria by Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Greg Leaming. She most recently appeared as Miranda in the New Stages touring production of The Tempest, directed by Celine Rosenthal, and Mercy Lewis in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, directed by Asolo Rep Artistic Director Michael Donald Edwards.

While studying at the Conservatory, Jenny also developed her skills as a teacher. She was the Teaching Assistant for Andrei Malaev-Babel’s Acting I, II, & III courses at New College of Florida, and she also worked closely with Tim O’Donnell in the Asolo Rep Education Department. Together, she and Tim developed and ran over 50 workshops for students from 8th-12th grade, to prepare them to come see Asolo Rep’s production of The Crucible. Jenny is currently Patricia Delorey’s Assistant Dialect Coach for Noises Off and Sweeney Todd at Asolo Rep.

Jenny holds a BA in English and Theatre from Barnard College, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and was the 2011 winner of the Ethel Stone Lefrak Prize for the Arts. After graduating from Barnard, she performed both regionally and in New York City. Credits include Sylvia Plath in Plath. A New Musical at FringeNYC, Eve in Mia McCullough's Since Africa with The Red Fern Theatre Company, Brandy in Prince at the Gene Frankel Theatre, and Jennifer Lee in the world-premiere of The Realization of Emily Linder with the New Jersey Repertory Company. At NJ Rep she also appeared in the world-premieres of Bookends, directed by Ken Jenkins, October 1962, and Release Point.  

Jenny is a Founding Member of The Brewing Dept. (TBD), a nonprofit theater collective. TBD presented her play The Living Room as part of the 2013 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, and she also appeared as Hilda Wangel in TBD's production of Ibsen's The Lady from the Sea in November 2013. Jenny starred as Desdemona & Bianca in TBD's production of Othello at The Alchemical Theater Laboratory in November 2015, and as Sarah in Matthew McShane's Beware of Dog at the Wildheart Loft in August 2016.
